| Toronto Power Solutions Cogeneration – Etobicoke is a project in development by Toronto Power Solutions, a partnership between Enbridge and Toronto Hydro Energy Services. Toronto Power Solutions is developing a proposal to construct, own and operate a 55 megawatt (MW) cogeneration facility on the Molson brewery site in Toronto, Ontario.
The site encompasses an area of approximately 0.8 hectares and is located at the Molson brewery site on Carlingview Drive, near the junction of Highways 401 and 427. The cogeneration facility will utilize clean natural gas to provide steam to the Molson brewery as well as power to the electricity grid. Connection to the electricity grid will be via the Richview transformer station which is east of the site. This project is in response to a recently issued request for proposal (RFP) from the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). The OPA is seeking up to 500 megawatts of high-efficiency combined heat and power projects across Ontario, including industrial cogeneration and district energy projects.
